and visit!
I've been visiting all kinds of ppl for the past week.
My sister and her new baby. My other sister and her husband.
Becca and Spike in their new apartment.
The Belters at their annual garage sale.
Speaking of garage sale, I picked up all kinds of fun trinkets, for under $12
I got two heavy ceramic cats that could be used as bookends or doorprops (I'm thinking the latter)
Three corningware bowls with the flat thumb grips (the kind you eat soup out of)
A ladel
This funky ceramic picture, with a circluar bottom and a short spout, but a tall neck with a cork and this random leather grip tied around it
A 9x13 in (or so) backing pan with lid
Three pots with lids
An electric mixer (the egg beater-looking kind)
A mug that looks more like a goblet, except with a cutesy little handle
Two bags of Chinese-style chopsticks
A pair of big scissors
And my mom gave me our biggest strainer and replaced it with a nicer one from the garage sale (Yeaaaaah, we've got some ooold shit hanging around the house here)
Oh, and Kristen gave me 5 settings of Ikea silverware since I only have the couple crappy things that came out of our camping supplies that I was using in the dorm ^^;
Becca and Spike and I went to the new Goodwill store yesterday, looking for dressers and things, but without luck. So we looked at some clothes instead.
I stumbled accross a long black schoolgirl uniform skirt, but had to pass because it was made of polyestery woolblend or something... and it attracted mad lint and fluff.
But, I did find a nice looking black skirt to go with my corset.
It seems so incongruous to match a corset with an item from Goodwill, but hey it should work.
Corset: $30
Earrings: $3
Skirt: $3.75, with student discount (Hell yeah!), $2.75
Outfit made for $35.75 (Rox0r)
Btw, those of you who have seen my corset are more than welcome to tease Jeremy about it.
Scheduled to move back to Chicago this weekend, hope I can get to the Globalfest before I go. Sad that the Feast is in October (which is much too early, even though it's after I've moved back.... I think I want to come back down to attend it though. You Chicago ppl should come with me! Except for Jeremy....cus he's a loser and will be in India instead
Also
In South Bend, Indiana, it is illegal to make a monkey smoke a cigarette.
That is all.
