Black boogers!
Oct. 4th, 2004 12:54 pmFor those of you who were not priveleged enough to behold my amazing blue boogers, alas, you have no appreciation for the black boogers...
there may be those who will tell you that witnessing the blue ones wasn't amazing.. but don't you listen to them, they are just in denial about the awesomeness that is my oddly colored boogers!
Why did I have black boogers you ask? Well, that's a fair question, so I will tell you.
Because I went to the Feast over the weekend.
And the Feast is a huge historical reenactment of 18th century life on the Wabash River where there are fife and drum corps, merchants, fur and silver traders, and 300-500 booths (selling everything from bone and amber jewelry to buffalo burgers to wool stockings to tin cups and iron tripods to hang your kettles over your fire pits...
which brings us back to black boogers!
Because of the large number of fires that are lit in the open air, if you walk around for about 5 hours, you've inhaled enough smoke and soot to have genuine black snot, that's right my friends, no artificial colors, additives, or preservatives here, just the real deal!
Moving on!
I'm still waiting for my textbooks to arrive, dammit! It's hard to do the readings in a book that hasn't been delivered yet!
Oh, and if anyone is interested to know what Opossum meat tastes like... I picked up a tin that boasts to be "Potted 'Possum" from the Feast for $2, so let me know if I've got any takers!
Wow! I didn't know this many ppl actually used the Mac Labs... maybe if I actually came during the daylight hours.... ^^;; Good for you ppl who aren't chained to your Windows OS and realize that there are twice as many Macs free at any given hour as there are PCs!!
I made croquettes last night for bento today.... the first one was well.... extra crispy... and I accidently pooked a a hole in one... and another puffed up really big... and the last one well..... umm, exploded... there was just a crispy shell left, with no mashed up vegetables on the inside anymore...
so I made that last one mine and put some chicken pie in it instead...
but the pork shumai that I microwaved turned out much better! It was really nice to have somethign warm for lunch... since suddenly it's so freakin' cold outside that it makes your nose run!!
All the while I was frying them, I kept thinking about the episode of Cardcaptor Sakura when she is petrified of the hot oil and gingerly drops in a croquette and squeaks, falling off of her stool when the oil pops.....
*shrug*
Sakura wa totemo KAWAII!!
That may be the episode (one of) where she imagines herself growing to giant size and squishing her older brother Toya under her foot... Hee hee hee.
The heater turned out at like, 5:30 this morning... I couldn't figure out what the hell the banging, popping noise was... the world was much too fuzzy and I was much to wanting to be asleep... but when I finally figured it out I had to get up and take the notecards and newspaper and picture frames off and put them safely on the floor so that they wouldn't melt (Or catch on fire!! ^^;;;_)
It'd be nice if management TOLD us they were turning the heat on before doing it...
but *Shrug* I guess I can't complain too much, it's better than having not enough heat.
And there was something else... it's floating around the edges of my memory, enough so that I remember that there's something that I'm not remembering, but not much as I'd need to actually remember what it is...
Gah!!
Meh...
*shrug*
