I mean, for some reason they work very well together, yet you kick yourself for not thinking of putting the two together sooner. It seems so obvious, you know? I love The Emperor's New Groove and I love wine... and yet, I've never combined the two until now? What was I thinking?? (c.f. alcohol and sippy cups)

Plus, the Schlink Haus sweet red apparently turns your teeth blue... or so I'm told.

So, Jeremy's gone to Ann Arbor and I'm left to my own devices...
which apparently means making vanilla oatmeal from scratch with banana slices and polishing off a bottle of extremely flat but still sweet red wine and watching kid movies. And purusing food blogs. And messing around on LJ. But I did that anyway...

And it just now occurs to me that our CVS card is no longer under the name Robert Lee residing at 1221 N. Grant St, but now Robert Teeple. And I think Teeple is a funny and awesome last name.

Ok, you know what's annoying? Scrolling your mouse over the time on the start bar repeatedly, trying to get the date to pop up... because it just doesn't work half the time. Gah! How am I supposed to know if my CVS coupons are still good if I can't check the date on the computer? Am I just supposed to go walk over to the real calendar and check?? Phooey.

You know what else I just realized? There are 8 bottles of shampoo and conditioner, in various stages of empty and fullness, belonging in some way to Jeremy and me. 2 that I use now, 1 that Jeremy brought me from someplace in his stuff, 2 that he uses, 1 that he doesn't, and 1 shampoo that I keep around as a spare between shampoo purchases... plus this 1 bottle that was fairly empty and fell off the side of the tub and some point and has remained there next to the radiator on the floor for some weeks now...

Also, this sweet red wine actually does make your teeth (or more correctly the fuzzy stuff stuck on your teeth) blue/purple. Actually, it bears an uncanny resemblance to that Agent Blue mouthwash stuff that the kids use in commercials to turn plaque blue and show them where to brush better.

I'm rereading Dune, and it is every bit as awesome and attention-holding as I remember it. (Oh! and I'm just a few pages from finishing the LOTR trilogy too.)

Speaking of benchmarks, Anna goes off to school at IU next week (I think) and my mother starts her evening classes at Purdue on the 23rd(?). I'm excited and impatient for people to return to HP, especially the anime kids. I'm tired of calling people's cell phones and getting voicemail and begging for attention from the JAS officers.

On a side note, can anyone think of an interesting way to cook cauliflower?

I'll come over for an hour a day to discuss Dune and LOTR with you - you know, we missed a class taught on those two our first year

Get cauliflower. Chill in freezer 24 hrs. Remove from freezer and thoroughly immerse in hot fudge sauce. Consume immediately.
