I think I've reached a new low...
Aug. 2nd, 2004 09:53 amAround, maybe a little after, 9 o'clock last night I headed out to Walmart
in my pajamas...
to shop for a new pair of pajamas...
It also occurs to me that I wandered around the women's lingerie for some time, toting a set of men's Hanes pajama sets... which would mean I probably spent more total time oggling the bizarra looking bra and panty sets that are trying desperately to look sexy.... yet still failing miserably because no one in their right mind would ever purchase a pair of lace panties like THAT..
printed neon orange with the cheapest tiger pattern you could possibly imagine...
Also grabbed a 7$ tie-dye T-shirt with Grumpy Bear on it, with the intention of throwing out some of my crappier, dying shirts...
And you know, there's just something irresistably enjoyable about eating Kix...
I'm not sure what it is
maybe it's the way they're shiny with sugar-coating on the outside
or that they're round little balls
that are hollow in the middle
In any case, I'm so excited that today is the last day of my rotation.
Tomorrow I'm off, and the day after as well.
I still owe ppl ice cream mochi (Which, interestly, the mere thought of such a bizzare concotion has already made my mom reject the possibility of its immense tastiness ^^)
And I can't remember exactly what my dream I just had was about..
but it had to do with some library that was supposed to be the Reg...
oddly enough, I've seen this library in another dream...
it's big and airy... and the inside is all of concrete and windows... but it had many drapy plants... and plants in boxes along concrete railings...
and to get from one section to another, you have to travel along long loooooong crisscrossing and overlapping stairways... sometimes escalators, sometimes not..
Kind of like what would happen if you took the hospital...
the part in front by where you go to give blood, near the waterfall...
and blended it with the moving stairs from the Utena movie actually.....
So, in the first section, there's a limited selection of things...
in my last dream, I was researching something in that first part, for a paper? maybe?
and there was a woman librarian that reminds me of my Aunt Laurel, who's big hobby is researching our Emerson family genealogy---she's getting quite good at it actually, when I went up for the reunion, she was showing me old old records, handwritten in gothic script, in German, from some Protestant-derivant church out on the east coast, recording the arrival and junk of one of our ancestors, one H-something Gottlieb. Cool name, if I could remember it.
Anyhow.
The library.
Something crazy about this library, there are weird EXTRA fees you have to pay before you can go some places. They come out of nowhere, but of COURSE, the ppl working there ASSUME that you should know about them, and ALREADY have paid them... if you were any kind of a half-witted decent human being...
Did I mention that these stairways overlap? Except that occasionally you'll come to the end of one flight, and there will be a handrail flush with the last step, and you have to duck under it or take one hard to the chest because you're coming down with more speed than just walking. Some of the stairways have multiple railing inside them, and landings... sometimes both multiple railings ON landings..
There are other students on the stairways too... wearing similar clothes? I'm not exactly sure if we're wearing uniforms... the clothes didn't stand out enough for me to make a good mental note about them
At one point I encouter a new librarian, this time a man. Who looks exactly like my Econ and Psych teacher from highschool, Mr. Mira, only with light brown hair instead of steely gray like he had. And I'm talking with him about some new fee I've stumbled across... right there on the stairwell, there are certain points when you have to pay another fee before you can go any farther... why they don't put them at the actual entrance to each new section of the library is a mystery to me.
I move on eventually, I don't even know if I paid the fee...
and there are more and more students.. and we're actually going to some event, that's in the library..
and then there's this little checkout, some little shelves of food items, and a small register with the conveyor belt.
But all the food is just snacks... like turkey jerky, Pocky, YanYan... and those pudding cups with yellow pudding and chocolate on the bottom---except they're packaged in cones, and are the consistancy of those little death jelly cups
So I'm trying to figure out what to buy, because for some odd reason I know I'm going to be in that place for an extended period of time, possibly even several days
I'm picking up things, trying to find a pair of pudding cones for $2.69 that are something other than strawberry... but only one vanilla, one chocolate, so I get strawberry anyway... (nevermind that the pudding all looks the same on the inside)...picking a flavor of jerky...
And sometime before I ever reach the register I wake up...
and for some reason I'm remember a part of another dream... possibly the same one, only before the library came into play..
about trying to decide what name I should peel out of this set of letters...
the kind that you would put on your mailbox, you know?
And looking at them, I decide that it would work really well if I picked "O'Brien" because none of the letters repeat. Anna is pushing me to pick other strange names...and now I don't know why I never even thought of "Davis" no repeat letters there either..
but I have the feeling that the set of letters I had wasn't complete... or had some repeat letters, but was missing others, like it had been used, or was one sheet from a larger set.. because there was something about "O'Brien" that worked well on more than one level
but I can't even remember WHAT I needed these letters for, it wasn't a mailbox, but they weren't the kind that you would put on a window or anything, or the kind you put on magnetic signs...
*shrug*
Jeremy.... heh
you're an O'Brien, maybe you've got some theory, some idea what I was doing with those letters? ^^;;;
Cus I'm stumped.
