oh, yeah

I kinda forgot while we were on the phone tonight, hon'
but, I saved a little kid at work today..
it wasn't even 1:30, and this small chubby boy in navy and white american flag trunks jumps off the far diving board, comes up, and just kinda flails around...
I triple whistle, jump off chair, shedding whistles and flipflops as I run around the first board, hop in, hoist child onto buoy and bring him to the wall...
at which point, he starts to run off towards the other section of the pool, like nothing had happened.. Matt W. grabs his shoulder and tells him to hold up, and I go back to my chair... and my heart is going

the next 50 minutes just seemed to creep by because of all the adrenaline...
but, now that I was soaking wet, being up on chair in the sun was slightly more bearable..

in any case, my manager Jason gave me a thumbs-up. And the aquatics director Sue as well, she left me a message on the dry-erase board in the guardroom: "Great Save, Catherine D."

Apparently I can do some things right? Dare I say, even well from time to time?
But still, I'd rather my days lazy and boring.
EMS's and firemen's and policemen's days should be like that... in our professions, having eventual days are bad news... excitement is really undesirable...

Went swimming with Davy, Beck, and that Spike kid--who's really not a kid...
Also had a retaliatory trip to Steak 'n Shake for milkshakes ^^

Ready for my days off. Really tired. I slept from a little after 11 until 8:30 today... but still... sleepy. But not wanting to sleep.
But for a lack of Jeremy, and Jeremy's laundry---of which I am so fond... I suppose I have few alternatives...

And, yes, Jeremy, I think it is because I like you. I guess that I tend to project meanings onto my dreams, so I wanted to see what other ppl thought it sounded like ^^
