It occurs to me

that the geek factor totally jumped like 6 points on that last entry... *laughs*
That's what I get for combining a ridiculous amount of academic reading with "A Fire Upon the Deep"...

I read an article today in the Redeye about coming out in highschool. It focuses on this one highschool boy in the midwest, and when he came out, some of the kids (apparently juniors and seniors) are trying to pick fights with him... someone smashed his mailbox and left a note saying 'We'll be back.' Some other kid threatened to torch his house... and his house was egged recently

*sigh*

It also said that midwestern high schools on average are more likely to have this kind of behavior towards homosexual students than other regions of the country.

It seems I keep finding more and more reasons to believe Indy/ the midwest sucks.
