catastrophy: (oroooooo)
Too Much Light on Sunday was great. Afterwards we went to Thai Binh/ Pho 999 in New Chinatown, which is apparently what I know as Vietnamesetown, except that Vietnamesetown is supposedly New Chinatown, and NO Vietnamesetown is NOT a subset within New Chinatown.... (I can't understand Jeremy's explanation for the life of me)
Thai Binh is apparently entirely staffed by cute Vietnamese children. I never saw an adult working the whole time we were in there. Two siblings, a girl in maybe 9th grade or so, and her little brother, who brought us water and spoke only in nervous mumbles except for "What do you guys DO for a living?"
It was like our appearance puzzled him so profoundly that he could not fathom what we could possibly do as a job.
I explained, "We're students." Blank stare. "We study at college..." Confused stare. "That's all we do right now" Still perturbed, he walks away with the pitcher. He was curious yet moved with trepidation, like we were Martians or something, intriguing, but don't get too friendly---we might eat you.
I liked that restaurant, the kids were adorable, if kinda spacey, and they totally had up a reindeer and poinsetta decorations. Plus the menu is unbelievably huge. It seems homey in there, as opposed to The Noodle, which has rather crappy service and is always overcrowded, although TN's Pho bowls are bigger.

Speaking of the suspension of logic, the whole Captain Planet show didn't make any sense if you think about it...

They also have this great spoof on TMNT. Dude, Krang and Shredder make such a great married couple.

And, oh my goodness, I have such a Sushu craving. It's like I'm addicted. I'm so impatient for her to get back!! *flail*rar!!!*flail*
