Oct. 2nd, 2006 08:55 pm"It's raining it's pouring, the old man is snoring, he bumped his head and went to bed and couldn't get up in the morning."
Children's rhymes aren't very nice, are they? Laughing at elderly, bed-ridden men with concussions....
Jeremy left me a voice mail all cute and happy about his bike and gear and discovering a pond full of different kinds of ducks, and it made me very happy, you see, because I love him very much, and he's very adorable like that.
In ASL today we played a mirror game, which meant of course the class was all doing the macarana, "wax on, wax off", being monkeys, or mimes-trapped-in-boxes until we couldn't help but laugh at eachother. Then we learned some simple signs, like chair, sit, door, close/open, lightswitch (or was it 'lights'?). We also practiced using raised/lowered eyebrows and head movements associated with questions and kinds of statements (negate, confirm, surprise, wh-questions...etc)
I also played hide and seek with my various advisors in the rain. The advisors won, sneaky bastards, already gone home for the day. ( I swear I'll get a BA advisor for real one of these days...) And the 001 people told me the locker lock was mixed... so I got a key... and it's totally not fixed. You lock the door and you can pull them right open again because the post of the lock is still 1/2" from actually fitting into catch...
Thunderstorm now. Whee! (But Neil's probably getting rained on... that's usually how these things work. esp. because he wore sandals today)
For the meantime, more reading, listening to the rain, and being happy that I have Jeremy even if he's 50 thousand miles away and I won't get to see him until after I turn the calendar to the next page.
