The power of Cat-cho compels you ... to join JAS! )

BA seminar continues to not be fun. Comments are either a week late, tyrannical, or tangental.
NO, I'M NOT WRITING ABOUT REFORM. I mention reform only where it suits my argument about education and ijime and public sentiments surrounding the two. Because the world really doesn't need yet another paper about reform (educational or otherwise) in Japan...
No one seems to get the connection between ijime in schools and violence outside schools either... I thought it would be intuitive.. same actors, different theater... the problems with social breakdown I'll grant... it's too big a concept to employ in the space I have. And I'm so tired of people harping on 'was there actually a spike in juvie crime? demonstrate!!!' I'm getting there, and more importantly, stats are crap. they depend on legal definitions and more importantly, society doesn't have to act rationally according to numbers... if people think that there's problem with youths and violence, it can mushroom into a moral crisis... but, blah, I'm not getting into this now.
Improving the organization of my papers is always a hurtle. I'm a rough, messy drafter by nature. I don't write drafts planning on having other people read and follow my thought process... but I need to come up with another skeleton outline to help me figure out causality and make sure the paper is all properly argument-flowy.

Enough, I say!

Now for Cat-Jeremy Ying Yang! )
