Awesome Caturday
Feb. 23rd, 2008 10:32 pmToday was Game Day at the Vet's Hall.
( Greetings, Equipment Mistress!, aka the stand-in GM )
( the natives seem friendly )
( the only girl and biting the hand that feeds you...lies? )
Jason and I muddled through most of the rules, with only two or three instances where we couldn't recall from previous experience how to resolve disputes about a card's use or the rules for certain types of combat. Eventually, Lance and Amanda showed up and we could pick his brain about the more obscure and crazy rules and sort out the mechanics for different kinds of combat (fighter v. fighter for Trench Run, Wave Motion Gun v. troops, etc).
After Game Day was done, I got all the templates from Lance I can start assembling the Peace Keeper and Scarran fleets <3
He's done most of the grunt work already---using bmp's in Paint *shudder*---but I'm hoping that if I need to do any substantial editing I'll be able to find a pc with Photoshop.
To round out the day, Jeremy actually agreed to go see a movie with me, so we had a double date with Lance and Amanda! We saw Be Kind Rewind and it was AMAZING. (I highly recommend you check out the Guide to Sweding and the Swede some websites. Hee hee...deleted the internet.) The Sweded movies are everything we love about ACen skits, except with movies.
Speaking of awesome-tastic things, Lisbeth Redfield from the U of C Maroon wrote the most brilliant, enthusiastic stuff about UChi-Con to ever come out of the mouth/pen of a non-JAS member that I've ever seen! Check out the article UChi-Con will open eyes to anime’s appeal. I need to bake this chick cookies or have her babies or something in order to truly express my appreciation of her eloquent and blatant JAs-promotion.
