Yay new contacts!
Apr. 7th, 2009 11:50 amNew contacts, renewed prescription, now that I've run the gauntlet of tests demanded by the eye doctor I have the privilege of paying yet more obscene amounts of money for lenses.
I managed to evade dilation, so hah!
In money-in news, my resume has found its way onto some Googler's desk, and I hope to hear more soon.
In the past few days I've been making up a short list of job postings to apply for. I wish that it wasn't so frustrating and time consuming to go through job boards :(
Unfortunately, there's nothing to be done for it. I have no choice but to alternately run in terror from and slink back guiltily to my job search. The one spark of optimism I have is that my attempts at networking (& references) have met with some limited success.
I helped Sushu move some furniture last week, which was fun---I got to feel useful and productive for a change. (FYI, no passerby men believe that two wimpy girls can actually move large furniture. Seriously, why is it that when I need help putting a new jug on the water cooler there's no man to be found, but the moment we step out with a big bookcase they come out of the woodwork??) Then, yesterday, Stephanie had a end-of-Lent gluttony party, and adorable tipsy Sushu totally failed to believably imitate a skeazy guy hitting on me at a club. We watched Slumdog Millionaire and discussed the dangers of 5 o'clock shadows and briefly succeeded at enticing Naveen and Brandon out of their hidey hole.
Current goals for the week:
Keep the kitchen tidy
Do ap's for shortlist
Avoid groceries (but give in before ramen madness takes over)
And I hope, I hope, I hope that I get my tax refund (and soon)!
