every job has 'em. You push papers, get paper cuts. Fight fires, get burned.

There were some I expected...

the scent of ozone/chlorine/pool chemicals clinging stubbornly to my skin
being wet (No, seriously---work at a pool and you relish the few hours of the day you are both dry and warm)
getting kicked/smacked by little hands and legs (kids...poor motor control. add water, no motor control!)

And some I didn't expect...

HIVES?!! hives + pool chemicals = SO. ITCHY. (something at the pool has given me hives all up my arms...odds are it's something off the deck, but it's hard to tell.)
bruises all down my shins (from kneeling on the steps to help the kids)
My co-workers think I'm MARRIED? (wait...what? The moms all think I'm still in school, which is understandable because I look about the same age as the other girls. But, what about my behavior makes the other teachers think I'm married?)

But, all in all, I really like teaching lessons. I especially love the kids I've got for summer classes (I see them twice a week or more). Some of the little ones are very shy and won't say a word, and others are gabby and silly and still cute even if they can't follow directions to save their life. I'm still not netting enough hours to make rent, but if nothing else I should be able to finish the first summer class, as it ends mid-July.
