tiedye killed me dead
May. 3rd, 2009 10:48 pmLet none say that I have not suffered for my art.
My sore back and stained hands are proof.
The process is labor intensive, but this my first from scratch collection turned out beautifully.
And it's a huge yield. I spent an hour and a half over the sink just rinsing everything out. (Agony!)
But now everything is rinsed, washed, dried, sorted, and folded.
What I don't sell to my family I'll post for sale soon---mostly it is baby and kid clothes.
I still have some supplies left (dye, urea, some detergent) and some leftover shirts.
Theoretically I could shrink the size of my next batch. Problem is, the dyes tend to run out at different rates, such that you end up mixing a second bottle of some colors... unless you are meticulous about planning the color combos and keeping track. Ugh.
But! All told, my crazy scheme was a resounding success!
